Private fees are agreed after reviewing the document, translation direction and deadline. Below is the full statutory tariff for work requested by authorised public authorities: written translation, interpreting, uplifts and other activities. The OCR calculator helps estimate document volume.
1125 / PLN
Full statutory tariff for sworn translators
These rates apply to work requested by courts, prosecutors, police and public administration authorities. Fees for private assignments are agreed with the translator.
The tables cover every language group in the Polish regulation. They are not a list of services offered by this office: Vadym Rekel’s sworn-translator qualification covers Ukrainian.

Uplifts for the text and turnaround
§ 2 ust. 2; § 3
+25% for specified text features
The uplift applies to texts:
containing specialist phraseology and terminology;
written by hand or printed forms completed by hand, except technical lettering;
that are difficult to read due to destruction, damage or poor quality of a technically reproduced copy.
Several features from this list do not create several separate 25% uplifts.

Interpreting
§ 6
The basis is the written rate from Polish into the relevant language, regardless of the interpreting direction. It is increased by 30% for ordinary work, or by 100% for work within 24 hours of the request or in expedited proceedings.

§ 6 ust. 2
How attendance is counted
From the time for which the interpreter was summoned until release from participation. Each started hour counts as a full hour.
§ 6 ust. 3
+20% at night, on Sundays or public holidays
The interpreting fee increases by 20% for work at night as defined by the Polish Labour Code, on a Sunday or a public holiday. The Code defines night work as 8 hours between 21:00 and 07:00; this does not automatically mean that entire ten-hour interval. The supplement applies to both interpreting modes; overlapping circumstances do not create several separate 20% supplements.

§ 4
50% of the base rate
Checking and certifying another person’s translation into or from Polish, and producing a certified copy of a document in a foreign language.
§ 5

The directions refer to the translation rates in § 2(1). The appropriate basis must be established for a document copy; making a copy does not mean translating it into another language.
§ 2 ust. 3
Additional copies of a certified translation
For each additional requested page of translation.
0.64PLN
Volume, rounding and VAT
§ 6a; § 7–8
Translation volume
§ 8
A page consists of 25 lines of 45 characters, or 1,125 characters in another layout. Visible printed characters and spaces justified by sentence structure are counted. A started page counts as a full billing page. The number of scan or PDF sheets is not the number of billing pages.
Rounding to grosz
§ 7
For the amounts covered by § 7, a fraction greater than 0.50 grosz rounds up; a fraction equal to or below it rounds down. The tables show one unit and round only the result. For multiple units, apply the rule to the amount due.
VAT is added where the translator is a taxpayer required to pay it, using the applicable rate on the day the fee is determined. The amounts above exclude this tax. VAT exemption is not a 0% VAT rate. The standard VAT rate is 23%.
Any reimbursement of travel or accommodation expenses requires the basis applicable to the proceedings. The regulation sets no separate supplement merely for Saturday work, OCR or remote delivery.
Estimate a document
Estimate your translation cost
Add documents or paste text. The calculator reads your files, counts the pages and estimates the cost automatically.
Estimate based on the source text
The final length and price depend on the completed translation. Private jobs are quoted individually.
Information needed for a quotation
Relevant factors include the language pair and direction, volume, terminology, legibility and expected format. Interpreting enquiries should specify the location, type of appointment and expected duration.
Include every page, even those containing only a stamp or handwritten addition. For large case files, we can begin with an inventory and an agreed sample. PDF page counts can be misleading: one page may contain a short entry while another holds a dense table or many handwritten additions.
The complete document or an agreed sample from a large collection.
The translation’s purpose and the recipient’s requirements.
Deadline, number of copies and delivery method.
Private assignments and statutory rates
Tables or calculators showing statutory rates concern separate rules for work requested by authorised public authorities. They are not automatically a price list for private assignments.
The agreed price and changes to the order
If the scope changes after the quote, we agree the effect on the fee and deadline. Legible material avoids estimates based only on the number of sheets.
A quotation should identify what the stated amount covers and how additional documents or copies will be charged. The calculator helps estimate the amount of material but does not confirm the price. If you use OCR, check the recognised text before relying on the result.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is one sheet one billing page?+
No. Under the statutory tariff, a billing page contains 1,125 characters of the translation, including spacing justified by sentence structure; a started page counts as a full page. An A4 sheet or PDF page can contain a different amount of text. OCR of the source gives an initial estimate, not the final volume of the translation. For private work, the billing basis is agreed in the quote.
Is the calculator a binding offer?+
No. It is an informational tool with specified assumptions. I confirm the assignment’s fee after reviewing the material.
